Need a trained, experienced care aide to help with morning care for a senior gentleman in a private home in New Westminster.


Job involves personal care (help with washing, showering, shaving, brushing teeth, toileting, dressing) and manual transfers from bed or chair to walker.

Must have formal training as care aide and be familiar with safety precautions and procedures. RCA & current First Aid certificate an asset.

We're looking for someone available to come in for 1 or 4 hours a day to start, with the possibility of additional hours as required by the client.

I am looking for a caregiver to assist my elderly mother. A compassionate and youthful attitude is essential! Female preferred to assists in planning, implementing and evaluating activity programs to meet the physical, social, emotional, intellectual, spiritual, and cultural needs and interests of my mother.


RESPONSIBILITIES:

1.Carries out established recreation programs including, outings, exercises, crafts, social events, entertainment, games, etc.

2.Assists residents to and from dialysis as required.

3.Assists, encourages, and motivate my mother to participate in social, spiritual, physical and cultural recreational activities.

4.Provides personal care during recreational activities as required.

5.Ensures residents’ rights are maintained.

6.Ensures recreational equipment and supplies are used, maintained and stored in a safe, clean, and efficient manner.

7.Provides guidance, assistance and support to my mother.

8. Non smoking environment


QUALIFICATIONS:

1.Must be a graduate from a recognized Resident Care Aid/Attendant Diploma

2. First Aid Certificate.

3.Food Safe Course .

4.BC Drivers License and able to provide 3 work related references .

5.Ability to read, write, and speak Romanian proficiently and understand verbal and written instructions.

6.Good interpersonal and organizational skills.

7.Must be in good health and free of pet or detergent/cleaning agent allergies.

8. TB Clearance

9.Clear Criminal Record Check for this position.


Compensation: $15/hr depends on experience.
Part Time leading to possible Full-Time position
