Looking for caregiver (Burnaby)

Looking for compassionate people who want to make a difference in the lives of seniors. We are looking for a caregiver that can be a companion and caregiver to our Client who lives in Burnaby. She has mild dementia and needs someone who is caring but also has a strong personality and who is not easily intimadated. Need at least 2-3 years experience with Alzheimer's and needs to be able to provide mental stimulation to the Client and motivate her to do activities.


Hours - Monday - 930 am - 1230 pm, Tues and Thurs - 10 am-1 pm.


Requirements:

• Must be compassionate, confident and highly sociable

• Must feel confident in your ability to engage the Client in activities and conversation

• Passionate about providing care for elders

• Have good command of English and be able to converse with ease on a wide variety of topics

• High school or college diploma

• Proof of eligibility to work in Canada

• 3 professional references including telephone numbers

• Clean driving record and no history of criminal background

• Must have at least 2-3 years of experience caring for the elderly and dealing with those suffering from Alzheimer's and Dementia

• Must have some level of formal training as a care aide (e.g. RCA)

• Must be able to drive and have own vehicle

• Must be able to cook

Responsibilities may include:

• Companionship and activities

• Cooking and light housekeeping

• Transportation to appointments
