Casual Assisted Living Care Aides (West Vancouver (North Shore))

Are you a care aide working part-time or on-call seeking additional employment to supplement your income? Did you recently graduate from the Care Aide program?

We are looking for ON-CALL ASSISTED LIVING WORKERS to work at Kiwanis Manor Assisted Living nestled in scenic West Vancouver.

POSITION OVERVIEW

The Assisted Living Worker delivers exemplary personal care services that enhance life quality and peace of mind for seniors living within the assisted living residence. Under the direction of the Assisted Living Coordinator or Leader delivers personal care and housekeeping, laundry, dining, social/recreation programs as driven by the needs, interests, choices and abilities of assisted living residents. Acts as a member of the program team to support life quality and peace of mind for residents and their families.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Responds to scheduled and unscheduled requests from residents for assistance with bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, mobility and medication administration at times of the resident’s choosing and/or as outlined in the Service Plan. Reports critical incidents and unusual occurrences to the Assisted Living Coordinator or Leader;

Follows the resident Service Plan and Shared Responsibility Agreement to deliver exemplary personal care and hospitality services within the scope and philosophy of the assisted living program. Delivers medications and performs delegated tasks according to prescribed protocols and methods. Documents care and interactions with residents in accordance with procedure;


EDUCATION, KNOWLEDGE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS

• Resident Care Attendant, Home Support or Assisted Living Certificate or equivalent combination of education and experience

• Food Safe

• Current First Aid

• Completion of Medication Management course through Capilano University
